Judging Overview
You will be assessing audition videos recorded by Lincoln-Way Students. The videos are on Youtube sorted into playlists by instrument. Please treat the videos confidentially, they should not be shared or viewed by anyone except you.
The videos will represent a wide range of ability levels, from students who will audition for All-State next year, to students who have been playing their instruments for only a few months.
We will need all the videos assessed and material returned to us by March 12th.
Please fill out a physical judging sheet for each student. This will be shown to the student. Feel free to make limited commentary on the sheet about student strengths and weaknesses. After the sheet has been filled out, please transfer the numbers into the shared Google sheet, including the students name, instrument and school.
All students should have played the first three lines of the scale sheet and sight reading. Those should be scored using the bottom of the judging sheet, 10 points for scales, 10 points for sightreading for a maximum score of 20. If the student performs the etudes, the etudes should be scored using the top portion of the Judging Sheet. Each line is worth 20 points for a maximum etude score of 100. If the student does not play the etudes, they should not receive a score for the top categories on the judging sheet.
